Purpose of the role and key responsibilities
The successful candidate will be a member of our dedicated Valuations Team. They will be responsible for working closely with other members of the Valuations Team, tax specialists and client relationship managers across the firm, focusing on the day to day service delivery to clients and being a key point of contact with them.
The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for:
Person specification
Previous valuations (both commercial and tax) experience is preferred but training will also be provided. The successful candidate will ideally be CA/ACCA and/or CTA/ATT qualified. The candidate will have a working knowledge of the various valuation methodologies and applicable bases including earnings, net assets, discounted cash flow and dividend yield bases as well as option pricing and expected returns. Tax valuations experience in terms of applicable case law and HMRC practice is again preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
In addition, the candidate will be a highly motivated and ambitious individual keen to progress quickly towards taking on increased responsibility, and who can work well both alone and also working as part of a team (who at times may be in different office locations).
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong commercial and UK taxation awareness, sound numerical and analytical skills and possess a high level of IT competence with experience of Microsoft programmes. Candidates will also require good communication skills and the ability to prioritise workloads. They will work well both as part of a team and directly with clients. There will also be a requirement/opportunity to work across other Johnston Carmichael offices.
